Loaded podcasts don't show on 955

I use to listen to podcasts while running (as many others, I guess). What I usually do is download the podcasts from iTunes in my PC and, subsequently, transfer them to my FR 955.

Recently, I had some podcasts that were low in volume and had difficulty in listening, even at the highest volume setting on my watch. I checked them in Audacity and found that the level was from 5 to 10 dB down from 0 dB level. So, I amplified, saved and uploaded them to my 955. The problem is that, although I can see the podcasts in the relevant file in the FR while it is connected to my PC, when I try to listen to them, I cannot find  them in my watch.

Has anyone any similar experience or any idea why does this happen?

  • What format did you save them as?

Some formats (like M4A) need a magic flag adding in the metadata before some players will recognise them.

Probably the most universally supported format to use would be fixed bitrate (CBR) MP3.

  • I saved them as mp3 (CBR).

By trial-and-error, I found a solution: the original (saved directly from iTunes) audio files were transferred to the "Podcast" folder of my 955. I tried transferring the edited files to the "Audiobooks" folder and the problem is solved.
