Forerunner 955 battery draining fast overnight

I got my new Forerunner 955 and have been using it for almost two weeks now. I noticed twice now that the battery drains faster than expected. Just recently, last night, I charged it to 100% and wore it overnight. I had the backlight turned off and other typical standard "sleep" settings enabled. I woke up this morning to find the battery at 89% - this is too much battery drain. I've been reading the old threads about 955 battery. My software version on the 955 is 22.18

Help - anyone?

  • I had significant power drain over the last 40 hours or so as well. over 1% an hour. Not sure what Garmin is doing again. This is really frustrating!!!

  • Well, my FR955 is not draining, battery consumption is around 5-6% per day without activities.
I doubt, that it is a general problem.

If the usual sync and restart does not help, check if "Garmin Share" is activated. This seems to be a battery killer for a lot of people and also was impacting me when it was introduced.

I deactivated it in the settings and deleted the glance/app from the watch, since I don't intend to use it anyway. After that, consumption was good again.
Also of course, check if you are using standard watchfaces or custom ones (or other CIQ apps), third party stuff seems to be a problem periodically.
