Reminder: if you factory reset to fix the blue triangle

Check your HR zones if you had set them manually. They will probably have defaulted back to %MaxHR where the Max HR is set by the age formula.

These settings aren't backed up.

  • Thanks, but found this out the hard way... Now my watch says I have to recover for 62hrs still (after a run about 30 hrs ago) haha.

  • True. I was mislead by Garmin Coach which was suggesting me today Base 1h20 at 128 bpm

This is my Z2 with MaxHR 172

But after run watch happily told me that my HR was increased to 168. Which might be improvement from age formula.

Thanks for the info, I had not realized this and was at first really happy with a very high MaxHR and high VO2Max. I thought my FR955 was trying to make up for all the grief its software developers (or rather their managers) had caused me by flattering me. It certainly brightened my mood - for a short while.

  • I realised what was happening today when my watch announced I was running in HR zone 6.

My normal MaxHR is set to 190bpm. (I've achieved a peak of 186bpm during a strenuous parkrun a couple of times and didn't pass out.)

  • Thanks, mine was reset to 142 from 180.

  • All saved locations, they are in oblivion to :(

Were there no saved locations in a backup? My backup was empty, but I happened to have file backups of my device so I could restore Lctions.fit. For in the future (who knows what may happen..) it is absolutely worth to copy /Garmin/Settings and Locations to a computer.

I had been using Garmin Explore. All my saved locations in Explore somehow have gotten 3 to 5 copies as a result of the bootloopfest. I'll be removing and reinstalling Explore as I can't make any sense of it anymore.

  • In the Backup and restore menu you can choose for some things whether they are included in the backup. Saved locations is one of them.

  • They should be there, but I found out they were gone (despite the option being enabled)

  • Yes its a good advice. I will copy those folders  - thank you.
