[Bug] Health Snapshot bug after update to 21.19

In the three days since the update to 21.19, Health Snapshot has exhibited a bug.

I use an external HRM, which normally connects after selecting Health Snapshot and before starting the "activity".  However, since 21.19, the HRM is not detected until after starting the "activity", which then aborts, and asks whether to start a new session!  It then runs fine!

  • Happens to me as well since 21.19 on 265S. Hrm strap is connected after the snapshot has already started and I am not even sure it is being used at all.

  • This morning, again, the HRM did not connect until after starting the "activity", but it did no abort.
    There was a second minor update yesterday lunchtime, between the two Snapshots.
    I'd still be happier if the HRM connected before starting the "activity".

  • The last few days, the HRM did not connect until after starting the "activity", but it did not abort.  However, like , I'm not convinced that the HRM is being used in he snapshot: the HR reported on the watch is different to that reported by an app on my tablet, at the same time.

  • A possible workaround: as soon as the HRM is connected I reset the snapshot and start again. No further connection notification appears and so my hope is that it is still connected and using the chest strap.

  • Doesn’t seem to be effective. Subsequent snapshots show a very erratic HRV so I believe the chest strap stays idle.

  • Now on FW 21.20 (FR955), no change in behaviour: HRM doesn't connect until after the snapshot is started; so abort and restart; but watch reading and HRM reading (in an app on my tablet) don't quite track together, where as I'm sure they used to.

  • Actually, when I launch a snapshot, even though the connection notification is delayed, I find that if I detach the HRM during the reading the watch loses the heart rate reading. So it seems it is using the chest strap after all? Can you try this and elaborate further?

  • OK, yes, I get the same behaviour:

    • start the snapshot; HRM connects; abort snapshot and restart;
    • detach the HRM from its strap; watch the HR climb excessively on both tablet and FR955; before the HR connection is lost and FR955 warns to check the watch fit and aborts the snapshot automatically!

    So, I agree, it is using the HRM, but doesn't auto-connect to HRM until the snapshot is started!
