Accidentally recorded a bike as a run. Now all performance/ running metrics (load, race prediction, training status) are ruined

  • Hi all, ive had a nightmare.

  • i accidentally recorded a bike as a run, now all the performance metrics, especially the race predictor, are completely out of sync. It dropped by 50 minutes.

ive tried several things: hard reset, doing another run to try and readjust it back, deleted the activity on the watch and connect app, but nothing changed.

i also looked at restoring the device to a few days ago but the only time i can restore it back too is this morning, and the bike/ run was 2 days ago.

im truly devastated - i really cared alot about the race predictor and using it a metric to help me improve and see progress. It feels ruined so any advice how to fix this would be ideal. It seems an mistake on the type of activity shouldnt have this effect

  • You might want to try to login to Connect Web and try to change/delete it there. Some features are more easy, or exclusively in Connect Web.

  • thank you for this. i just checked, but unfortunately couldnt see the activity anywhere and also could see the race predictor was the exact same sadly

  • so deleting the activity did work, since you cannot find it anymore. Probably you have to wait before metrics are OK again, it will take several weeks to phase out the "old" scores. Apparently, your wrong data is already processed in the running metrics

  • yep, but it seems crazy how one mistake can ruin all the running metrics, without being able to fix it to recalibrate the metrics

  • Yeah, unfortunately, deleting or editing an activity won't affect your metrics (which are calculated on the device).

Even a discarded activity will affect certain metrics. If you go for a run and discard the activity without saving it, you'll still see a change in recovery time and training load.
