Superficial scratch on 955 screen

Is there any way to get a superficial scratch buffed out of the screen? My watch is basically new, and I know scratches are not covered in the warranty, but my heart is broken about the scratch across my screen. It is light enough to be buffed out, I am just not sure which product to use, as I don't want to damage the device. Is it possible to just have the screen replaced?

    I hope someone can advise you, I would be very hesitant to try to buff it out. 

    Depending on where you bought it, and payed, it may be covered by insurance from the shop or from a creditcard. You can always just give it a try if they are willing to help you out.

    Personally I would put one of those flimsy thin screen protectors on it, they hide scratches well, but do not have great optical qualities unfortunately. And lately Garmin advised (on Fenix 7 forum) against using them because they could damage sapphire glass (seems strange to me). Does anyone here know if screen protectors are advisable for the FR955 or not? 

    Replacing the screen is not something Garmin does, they always replace entire devices. Having a 3rd party replace the screen will probably void the warranty.

    I think Garmin reps have just stated that if the watch screen gets damaged by a screen protector (because of the glue or whatever), Garmin warranty will not cover it. Which is logical, since the screen protector has nothing to do with Garmin, and if Garmin said otherwise, they would willingly take responsibility for screen protectors they have no control over.

    That said, I've always used screen protectors both on my old Fenix 5+ and my current Forerunner 965, and I've had zero problems. Just buy reputable protectors from known brands, not some random stuff from random web stores.

    I have a protector on mine. It saved me a couple of times, and peels off easily to replace. I don't notice any optical difference with it on.

    I've used screen protectors on my 955. The best I've found were "Spigen Ez Fit Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Garmin Forerunner 955" but I'm having trouble finding anyone stocking them in the UK at the moment. The great thing about the Spigen one is that it comes with a jig that fits round the watch and aligns the glass perfectly.

    It's easier to find screen protectors for 955 since it has a non-curved glass. For my 965 I've used Brotect Flex for Forerunner 965, since that film perfectly covers the curved screen.
