Audio prompts have a chance of completely freezing android phone since 20.29

After firmware update to 20.29 during activity sometimes audio prompt will get stuck in a loop (e.g. "Turn right" repeating forever). On top of that, my phone will go into semi-frozen state - only able to access lock screen. Unlock or restart attempts are ignored, until phone restarts.


Not seeing this issue in the forums, is making me think that the issue might be somehow isolated to me?

For additional context - headphones are connected to the phone, not watch directly. Also on phone lock screen I can see "play/pause" button constantly changing state on spotify, so it just seems that the watch is constantly just replaying that prompt?

    Still the issue stays away. So it is definitely not a FW issue ofthe watch itself. I still believe there is a battle going on between Garmin Connect and Spotify since Spotify updated in September. The August version does not cause problems

    Did some tests today: updated to 20.32. Audio prompts still have problem with spotify. Then changed to a different audio app. No problem. 

    I think I noticed a different bahavior between the 2 apps. Spotify is paused to let the audio prompt play. Then the problem occurs and both apps try to take control and pause each other, resulting in the problem.

    The other app is not paused, the sound is reduced keeps playng in the background, prompts go over and in the end the audio from the audio app resumes the original volume.

    Tomorrow I'll test a different but much similar Spotify App (Tidal) and confirm the behavior

    Well my test was quick today. I noticed a new Spotify version was available 8.9.82.620 October 8 on Android.

    I followed a simple test route that gave me problems yesterday and same spot, second phrase, no glitch. 

    So didn't test anything else. Can anybody else check ?

    Any clue if this definitely solves the issue? I stopped auto updates for Connect, Spotify and FW on FR955 and I wonder if I should update again

    I'm on latest version of everything. Workout today, no problems. 

    The only thing that probably remains is the impossibility of disabling audio prompts. But that's a different story Rage

    I've updated the watch and Spotify to newest software versions, and had a glitch-free walk today. Hopefully the issue has now been resolved for good.
