20.26: crash/reboot during activity

During the activity a failure occurs, around km 8.53 the watch automatically resets, creating a power peak of 3,649 W.
Attached graph of pace and power during the crash.

  • Did this happen once or is this a pattern?

  • This type of error is repeated (possibly since version 19), but I have not yet found its pattern.

  • Stock watchface? Any using a datafield app?

I have now tracked 28 hours of training (running and biking) with no crashes. I could give it a go if you are using any special apps to see if this could be the case.

  • The bug has occurred with and without datafield / watchface (looking for pattern) on two different 955 watches (one replacement).

  • Today the peak power reaches 3,984 W, increasing the error in the statistics of the average value of several metrics.

  • Garmin assumes this error is a software bug and I am looking for any clues that may be useful to fix it.
Today I found that this error started for the first time on January 13, 2024 and always occurs when I do a workout belonging to the Garmin Coach Plans.
I have not been able to determine which version of the software was released in the first days of January 2024 (maybe version 18.XX).
I hope they fix this bug soon and I can be human again with power peaks of <400 W and not 3,984 W

  • I suffered this issue today for the first time FR955 Solar. During run activity (standard, no coach plan, no daily suggestion) it suddenly restarts itself, and show resume option. Resuming will continue the run activity so it looks like nothing happened. On the screen it shows "loading maps" and something like "finding gps".
