Yesterday I had to pause and restart my Golf activity three times during the round. Each pause was uploaded to Garmin Connect as a new activity. I would assume that the activity would only update/upload once the full activity was completed.
For example, with running or walking the auto-pause feature doesn't upload multiple activities.
