Cannot unlock maps

I saw a thread dated over a year ago asking anyone with this problem to start a new discussion.
I synced my watch last week (Aug 2024) and now get this error message when I turn my watch on. I use the map/navigation features regularly. Please advise how to fix.

You wont be able to get any help without providing more information. What is FR955? What FW are you on? What map are we talking about?

Garmin forerunner 955 watch

I power on the watch and get the error message. It started after updating the watch last week - when I got the same error message immediately after removing the device from my computer.
I don’t know what it means or what maps are impacted.
I’m only posting here bc a thread last year instructed folks to. I’ll contact cust support directly

Had you just updated the maps using Garmin Express on your computer?
