Help! My watch wants to update. How do I prevent it?

I deliberately stayed at 17.xy and somehow from charging my watch on my PC, it now wants to update to SW 19. I don't want this. It was disabled in the settings and still is. I already removed the GUPDATE.GSP file from the Garmin folder. However it still tries to. How can I stop it at this point?

Have you tried deleting the RemoteSW folder (if it exists)?

It eventually worked to stop it. Thanks for your input. After a hard shut down it rebooted and showed that it proceeded an update. I thought I had lost, but it only was time zones. It previously really tried the full SW updates but those prompts stopped after the shut down

Well, fuc Garmin Express. An alleged map update now pushed 19.18 onto my device. I really didn't want it.
