  • Hello!

Any chance of YouTube Music coming to the Forerunner 165 Music Edition?
  • Hello, I don't know, but on the app details displays:
"Support for more devices coming soon"
Ask directly to YTM support that maybe get better chances if FR165 users ask for this.

  • I have a youtube premium and use youtube music and installed the app on the watch, but I don’t understand how it works. The watch displays only 2 folders (liked music and podcast) and it downloads only one track, but I cannot see my playlists and I don’t know what it thinks sould be syncronised?

  • You need to first have the watch connect YTM to your mobile. Turn-off Airplane Mode and connect your headphones before start. If this is already done it should show all your playlists on the watch (inside Library). Choose each of them that you want to download to the watch for offline listening and you're done. Connect it to WiFi and it will start downloading the selected Playlist, it will take a few minutes depending on the amount of Playlist, tracks and connection speed.

  • Still no support for Fenix 6.  I noticed that Fenix 8 is now supported.

Would like to see support for Fenix 6 devices as this series seems to be a bit neglected by Garmin.

  • I'm sorry to read that :(
The truth is yes, it's incredible that in a product of this level it still can't be used.

Also, after these months, I'm a little disappointed by the implementation by Google. Well, I don't know if this is a problem with Google or with the Garmin software, let me explain: it's constant that you have to resynchronize the ENTIRE music library. Always with each firmware update and every certain interval that I haven't measured yet, but it's really garbage literally that. It's not that you need to connect every xx weeks to revalidate music licenses and if the YT Premium account is still active, no, that would be logical; you have to re-download all your playlists. This process is not simple either, you select 20 folders and that's it, they take 1 or 2 hours but they download by themselves, no, you have to download them again one by one (not to mention that it is a VERY SLOW download process), a disaster.

From being very happy I went to being totally disappointed with this implementation by Google and the Youtube Music team.I still use it because I use YT Premium for other things and well, it works for me, I already have it, but if not I think I would stick with another service or even just the MP3 files, which is how I was using it, without any problem.

PS- I clarify that this is the behavior in the 955, I don't know if it will be the same in other models.

  • I also have the 955 and YTM, but in the past two weeks using them together I didn't have to redownload. Hopefully it wouldn't happen, because I have 5 long playlists synced to the watch. When I used Spotify, it would only check the playlists for updates and download the tunes that were missing during charging. Hope it's still the same with YTM.

LE: it makes sense that if you have an adaptive playlists that completely updates weekly or even daily to re-download it, because all songs have changed.

    Not the case Disappointed
I just use static playlists for the 955 to avoid having to sync large amounts of files over and over again.
Now I updated the FW and again I have to start syncing all the Playlists I want to use again... Drooling face

  • strange, because I never had to redownload my playlists, not even after updating firmware. I'm not saying it's not gonna happen at some point, but it didn't happen so far. I have a strange bug where switching back to phone music control would crash the music app several times before switching, but other than that YTM works solid for me.

This happens to me too, but as you say, after a couple of attempts it works fine.

I also find that when I try to connect to my BT headphones it gets stuck on "Searching for..." many times. I found that if immediately after I press "Connect", I cancel the request and press "Connect" again, it connects instantly, but this is a Garmin thing.
