19.18 - Forerunner 955 keeps trying to update vol.2

After update to 19.18, have similar issue, watches keeps trying to update every time I take it off my wrist, (disconnect from PC), have checked previous answers in this forum also.

System setting shows correct versions of all BMX, WHR, Sensor Hub, also a HR sensor and all seems working as previous, only update pops out.

  • Reject such an update.
Turn off automatic updates in the watch settings.
Also, delete the 006D856710.gcd file from the Garmin /RemoteSW folder

If you agree and continue with these updates, you may experience a situation where the SensorHub version = 0.01 is broken first, and then the subsequent sensors will be reset to zero.

If you have a situation in which after each connection to the PC you are offered an update without a signed version number, this is the beginning of a failure in the main firmware, which can be followed by failures in the version numbers of other sensors. Monitor the situation.

If Garmin makes a firmware rollback (return) option available, it will be the easiest solution for users to resolve these types of issues.

Again, replacing the watch with a new one in official representative offices is still Garmin's position in cases of software failure.

  • I once had my 955 trying to update the maps every time i disconnected it from the pc/charger.  Does anything i wrote in this thread in the end help? forums.garmin.com/.../
