Forerunner 955 disconnect after update to 19.18

My watch disconnected to my Android device after being updated to 19.18. A new bluetooth pairing always fails. A reinstall of Garmin Connect has no effect.

So sad.

  • I'm sorry to read that! Please follow the steps from Remove and Add a Device From the Garmin Connect App to establish a fresh connection to your phone and Connect app. If the steps do not work, please contact Garmin Product Support to work with a live agent if possible.

  • I have had the same issue since updating to 19.18 as well.  I've tried factory resets on the watch, re-installing garmin connect on the phone and when i try to re-pair the watch to the phone, it's a 5% chance that it finds the watch.  Then it pairs for 10 or so minutes then disconnects again.  I've even tried numerous combinations of turing on/off permissions, but same thing.  Then today whenever i connect my watch to garmin connect and sync it, it says im on the latest firmware, but after i disconnect, it tells me i have an update.  Since then, I no longer have the pairing issue but wifi, messaging, and HRM no longer work.  Have you had any better luck?

  • I have the same problem too! (Forerunner 955 Solar) After the 19.18 update both bluetooth and wifi stopped working. I can't get in touch with my mobile no matter what I do. I uninstalled the Connect app twice with no improvement! Restarting both the watch and mobile does not help either. Really hope that Garmin ASAP sends out an update bug fix!

  • I recently encountered a similar issue with my device. Initially, it couldn't connect to my headphones, and shortly after, it failed to connect to my phone as well. I eventually had to send it back to Garmin for a replacement
