Synching with Garmin Express my changes order of glances

Synching with Garmin Express causes my glances to be reordered.

I see that someone else had this problem with 14.13.  I have it with 18.27.

Normally I try to avoid syncing with GE because things tend to go wrong but I needed to charge my watch from my computer so I thought I might as well sync at the same time.  Lesson learned?

I see that in order to clear the updates on GE it is still necessary to sync, unplug and wait for updates to happen on watch, replug and then sync again.

  • It's not juts you! Every single time I upgrade, some of my glances (and activities too) decide to rearrange themselves. Definitely annoying to have to go fix them repeatedly.

  • Not every time I synced, but it has happened to me several times. Not only were they reordered, but some were deleted and I had to add them back.

  • I just upgraded from the 945 to the 965 and each time I connect the watch to USB to charge (about once a week) the glances get reordered :-/ I don't have this problem syncing the watch and my Android phone, but it annoyingly happens once a week when I charge the watch.

Sad to see that this was a problem with the 955 too .. you'd think it would have been fixed by now.

While I agree this bug is super annoying, wouldn't it save you a lot of grief to either charge a different way (e.g. USB brick) or to exit / uninstall Garmin Express? (You can change options in Garmin Express so it doesn't automatically start when your computer starts, and so it doesn't automatically open when you connect a device.)

Given that you can sync via bluetooth or wi-fi, it seems like there isn't much reason to open Garmin Express, especially if it messes up glances. (Yeah, I realize that Express might be better for updating big maps, but I don't think it's necessary for too many things. You can even manually sync MP3 files without using Express.)
