Forerunner 955 Solar battery drain V18.23

I have a battery issue with my Garmin 955 solar since 3 weeks. I bought my watch a bit more than 1 year ago, and battery was lasting about 10 days with my current parameter. For the last 3 weeks, battery capacity has dropped to 5 days. I have not touch any parameter. Maybe a new update caused this problem? Have you met similar issues? Any advices?

  • I had a IQ field called “regen” (rain) installed on my watch. Since i removed it the drain was gone.

  • I did not have the "Regen" installed on my watch. I will remove all my IQ watch screen that I do not use, and see what it does. I will let you know.

  • Unfortunately, it does not do any improvement. Atfer full charge and 24h, my battery is down from 100% to 82%; almost double than usual.

  • have you done a hard/soft reset of the watch (holding light button down for 20 sec and then reboot)...or biggest thing: reset the watch to factory settings.

i haven't, thankfully had any major changes for my 955 Solar (almost 2 years old now)

  • Hello Derek. Actually, based onto some Garmin Techician, I tried :

    - synchronisation with Garmin Connect on my computer,

    - I deleted my watch from my phone application

    - I disconnected bluetooth/ dissociated my phone/ my watch,

    - I did the hard/soft reset (that you are suggesting).

I wait 1 days to check the result, and there is no improvement.... The battery is still diown by 20% in 24h today.

I have not tried the Total restet factory settings....

  • i'm sorry to hear about your frustrating experience. i don't know if the total factory reset will help, but that's the last thing i could think of outside them swapping things for a new unit for you. but it sounds like all of this happened after you updated firmware so one would think it isn't hardware related...

  • Mine too - My Forerunner 955 is about a year old. Battery used to last at least 10 days, but now it lasts less than a week.

  • I just proceed to a total factory reset. I will let you know if it works. If not, I will have to swap the watch for a new one. Garmin sent me a message where the factory reset is the last thing to do before returning the watch for a swap. I will let you know.

  • Hello Sid. Sorry that you have the same issue as me. Try to proceed to all the above mentionned action to see if something could solve your issue.

  • My watch has the same problem. Resets in any way did not help. Also with 18.26, there is no improvement.
