Credit card pin - touch screen entering problem

Hello,

after penultimate OS update of Forerunner 955 began some problem with entering the pin when unlocking the credit card. Currently I am unable to enter it via touch screen because it always causes an error. When I enter it by buttons it unlock passes correctly. Nothing else was changed, just updated the OS.

Can you help me please?

Thanks, Tomas

  • I noticed the same thing, I thought I am rushing and entering wrong PIN, but maybe there is an issue there.
Using the button I don't have issues as well.

  • Since the 20.x updates, I have been unable to use the touch feature to enter my Garmin Pay passcode.  It always fails on the first try, and sometimes (lately every time) fail on the second try.  I have to then use the buttons to select the pass code or risk being locked out of the Garmin Pay app on the phone.

When I select the menu option, which also contains 10 options, every option works first time.  So it's not a touch issue.

Is anybody else able to enter their passcode using touch?  I use big fonts, but even turning that off, did not fix it.

Is there a way to have the watch show the number I select instead of just dots?

I almost never use touch on the 965, but this was the *one* feature I was looking forward to, after upgrading from my trusty 945...

  • Occasionally the pin can be entered, but in most cases it cannot. The buttons work, but it's a bit of an ancient approach. The Garmin software is terrible. :-(

  • Curently it seems that the problem is solved in version 21.20. Maybe in sooner version, but I tried it these days.

  • In the beta 22.18 a new layout of the input for pins was released. I just checked the touch functionality, which I usually do not use, but I found out that the touch field with the button "9" is not recognized as such, but is always showing "6" instead. This is only the case for number 9, all other "buttons" can be entered correctly. This seems to be a bug with the touch fields.

  • Any pictures of the new layout?

  • It's the traditional number pad layout with 1-3 on the first row, 4-6 on the second, 7-9 on the third, and delete and 0 at the bottom. It's easier with touch since each number has more screen estate. You can still use it with buttons, they cycle through the numbers just like before.
