Swimming screen freezes(FR 955 Solar)

During my recent swims, when I start indoor swimming. It only records the initial laps, and then the screen freezes.

After stopping the activity and switching to the electronic compass.
I found that the compass was completely frozen and unable to distinguish directions.

I tried turn off the watch and restarting it.
Then resuming the indoor swimming activity, everything works normally again without any stops.

The next day, when I tried indoor swimming again, the same issue occurred.

These issues had never happened before.
In the same pool with the same watch, which I've been using for a year without any problems.
Could this be caused by the recent firmware update?

  • Could this be caused by the recent firmware update?

To begin with, you can see when there was an update and when problems arose. If immediately after the update, then it’s possible, but if not, then not. See the version FW in the last known good activity.

  • I can't pinpoint the exact timing of the update, but I definitely saw the system update screen during these last one to two weeks.

These issues have also arisen only in the last 1~2 weeks.
I've tried recalibrating and resetting, but the problem persists.

I'm wondering if it might be a hardware issue, but it doesn't explain why everything returns to normal after a restart.

So I'm thinking it might be related to the update.

If there's a way to downgrade the firmware, I'd be quite willing to test it out.

  • I can't pinpoint the exact timing of the update,

You don’t need to, for each activity it is indicated which FW was used, just look at the last good one and the first problematic one.

    There is no such possibility.
