How to get alerts of cumulative distance and not individual km markers on a run? TIA

How to get alerts of cumulative distance and not individual km markers on a run? Thanks in advance

  • I'm assuming you have auto-lap for every km, and you want to see your total distance whenever a lap is triggered.

Change your lap alert settings so that one of the two fields shows total distance.

    - Open Run activity (or whatever activity you normally use)

    - Hold UP button for menu

    - Select Run Settings (or [Activity Name] Settings)

    - Select Laps

    - Select Lap Alert

    - Select Primary Field or Secondary Field

    - Select More > Distance Fields > Distance

Do you really need to change the default behavior though? By default, the lap screen looks something like this:

    - Lap number (this can't be changed)

    - Lap Time

    - Total Time

The lap number will always correspond to the total number of kilometres run at that point, unless your auto lap distance is something other than 1 km, or unless you you pressed the LAP button manually (I'm guessing this might be the case tho.)

  • Thank you for your reply. What I am wanting is to have audio alerts giving the cumulative distance not telling me each time I’ve run 1km. I’m using the app for general road runs not laps. Thank you

  • Oh gotcha, didn't realize you meant audio alerts, my bad.

    In that case I don't think it's possible :/.

  • Ok thanks. Surprising it’s not available esp given this is quite a basic you get on the likes of Strava

  • I agree, not possible.

  • So I went for my first run in a long time with earbuds (no phone), which gave me a chance to hear what the audio alerts sound like. I have auto laps enabled, with auto lap distance set to 1 km. For each lap, the audio alert tells me the lap number and lap time — e.g. “Lap 5, 5 minutes 33 seconds”.

So as with the lap alert screen, as long as your auto lap is set to 1 km (or 1 mile, for those who use miles), and you never press the lap button, then the lap number in the audio alert will correspond to the cumulative distance.

    I’ve got a 955 with firmware version 18.23.
