Polar Verity Sense and RUN activity. Watch HR sensor LEDs still working

As subject says, yesterday I made a run activity (firmware 18.22) with my Polar Verity Sense armband. What I've noticed is that while the arm band was working, I've also noticed that FR955 LEDs were blinking all the duration of the workout. The watch HR sensor was turned off when connected to an external HR monitor in Prior firmware. Please look into the issue please.

  • That's an intended change in 18.22. The wrist HR is kept on with external HR strap. That allows more seamless transition between wrist and strap HR when the strap is removed or connection with the strap is broken. (Earlier people have complained that when a HR strap is removed, it takes a while for the wrist HR to latch onto correct HR).

  • "We have some future features planned that are expanding on this behavior, and this (keeping OHR enabled) is required for that functionality once it is implemented. Stay tuned."

  • Using a basic browser on a TV I can't provide links (or even a paragraph break) but to consolidate what info we have from Garmin - expanding on what has already been provided - here is a reply from Garmin-Laurie to bellostom in the thread "Heart rate problem" of the Fenix7/... Beta forum 12 days ago. I must say the 'grab a coffee during an interval session' [my own brain image] sounds rather bizarre: [...] "The first is consistency in HR/HRV throughout. So if one HR method is dropped, the other will pick it up. The 2nd reason is for Garmin Pay. When your OHR is disabled during activity, Garmin Pay cannot be used without a PIN code because the watch is treated as 'Off-Wrist'. So keeping this enabled allow Garmin Pay to be used during activities". My own experience with OHR on a Fenix 5X (the original from 2017) and now FR955 - older Firmwares - is that there never has been a problem to pick up the heart rate by the internal sensor when I disconnect heart rate straps (Garmin or Polar manufactured).
