Forerunner 955 solar did not even last a day - Screen is now black

My Forerunner died during its first day out of the box. The screen went black during the day and after reading some other forums this happened when i first took it outside and seems to be a common issue.

I managed to get it to connect back to the app on my phone and do a factory reset only for the same thing to happen an hour later. It’s gone now, will not connect and screen is black but still has backlight.

Anyone managed to fix this before i try and get a refund?

Unbelievable that they keep selling this model with the amount of similar issues posted. Wish i had have done the research before the purchase!

It's a real shame. Hope Garmin refunds quickly, or give you a new one asap.

However, I would not say it's a common error. The model would be discontinued and forums would have a vast majority of people with broken watches...

My experience is that Garmin has excellent support and service.

I've had one since the week of its first release. There have been some software problems but they have been fixed (eventually).

Hardware failures are rare but do occur. This sort of thing is why we have warranty periods.
