Stress and bath

Hi,

a critical bug in the software is that when you take a bath, the stress widget readings stay at the highest values, I am sure due to no movement and increased pulse because of warm water. Newest software here, but does not matter. Has always been like that. I am sure the bug exists in the whole lineup, that is all Garmin watches. There would need to be some bath detection, even manual, done by a user. I use my watch 24/7 so wanted to share that bug, because it seems that the Internet has not heard about it yet. Of course, hope they will fix it asap.

  • Critical, really ;-)  - Why not just take the watch off during the bath?

  • Stress is relative and is measured using a combination of HR and HRV. A warm bath versus a hot bath will likely elicit a different stress response depending on the individual’s tolerance. In addition to that, someone suffering dysautonomia may have an excessive stress reaction to heat.

Basically, stress is very individual and there is no universal interpretation on how each person reacts to stimuli. Maybe try reducing the temperature, or remove your watch to prevent the issue.
