no app connection available - but watch connected - find my phone fails

Hello,

I am not sure how common this is but it seems that everytime I need to use the watch to find the phone, I get a "no app connection available" when clicking on find phone

What doesn't make sense to me is that if I receive a phone call, the watch vibrates and I can answer so it is obviously connected.

If I open the app, then find my phone works correctly.

But basically I can't rely on it since whenever I need it, it has this issue

Anybody else with the same problem? What is a solution or workaround that you have been implemented?

thank you

  • Yes, I checked both

i never play with those things.

As I type this, it happened again

I turned Bluetooth off for the night. Turned it on this morning.

the watch says open app on phone. If I turn off the Bluetooth on the Watch and turn it on it says at first waiting for phone. After a while it changes to open app on phone

and I could still receive calls on the watch

do I need to open the app every day after re-enabling Bluetooth? Even if all the settings on the iPhone match the link that was shared before?

     Thank you

  • This keeps happening

this morning I specifically opened Connect. The watch showed that “find my phone” was available. Now 2 hours later it says “open App on phone”

the background app refresh is enabled and low power is disabled and I am 100% sure I didn’t force close Connect.  In fact, if I swipe from the bottom I see it among the opened apps

sometimes turning off Bluetooth on the watch and turning it back on fixes the issue. Sometimes it doesn’t

     any suggestion is appreciated

     thank you

  • That is strange. May I have permission to reach you via email so we can investigate?
