Sycronization with Explore App Android

Hello,

I use my Forerunner 955 with the Connect App and the Explore App on Android. Everything works fine but the sycronization with a planned track.

Connect App --> Watch --> Explore App : Sync at Explore App fails and gets stuck (Sync notification on Android stays) and I get an empty Track with the timestamp at sync as name.

If I plan a route on the Explore App and convert it as track and let it sync to the watch everything is fine.

All other syncs of activities and to the web are working fine. I also do not need the functionality but I'm just anoyed of the stuck sync notification until i delete the track torso on the explore app manually. This always happens when I genereate a new planned track with the connect app.

I tried to reinstall the Explore App or reconnect the wathch to the cell phone but nothing solves it.

The feature broke somewhere last summer, so my question would be if anybody else has the same issues and the sync is principially broken and it is not due to my setup not working.

Thanks and Regards,

Stefan

  • Garmin terminology of track, route and course is just confusing and nothing I kan keep in my old head, but for what it's worth I had the exact same experience as you the other day. Tried out the Explore app for the first time in several years to see if the UI and capabilites had changed (they had not from what I could tell). When it was through with syncing _everything_ from my FR955 - 5 months of activities etc - there were two tracks (or whatever) named with the sync date and of zero size (0). In the end I realized that they were the two 'courses' I some time ago had created on the Connect app and synced to the watch - which then the Explore app deleted from the watch... I tried several times to get the courses back on the watch and up to the Explore app without success.

  • The terminology, thats weired but could be derived from the gpx format as there are routes and tracks.

Pretty complicated it gets when you have it in different languages as for me in German to explain what is ment... Sweat smile

Maybe somebody else can also check that it's not a bad combination.

I do not need this feature to sync plannes tracks anyways but I like the Explore Map with all the courses I already did. But I do not like the stuck android notification whichs stays until I delete the planned track again.

  • I recently changed my cellphone, therefore all app were of cource newly installed.

The sync of planned tracks (or however you may call them) to the explore app is still broken at least for me. The sync of the done activities is fine...
