heart rate sensor doesn't work anymore (WHR version 0.00)

I have a problem with my forerunner 955 with firmware 18.15. It constantly trying to update. Since it updated the heart rate sensor doesn't work anymore. In "Info" it says "BMX: 0.0.0. (!)", "WHR 0.00.00" and "Sensor Hub: 0.01". The watch also doesn’t connect to WiFi anymore, due to „low battery“, but the battery is almost 100%. It have already connected it to Garmin Express and also deleted the "RemoteSW" folder. But no effect. I guess it is some kind of update error. Does someone know how to fix it?

  • thank you for the reply, i am afraid to update my replacement watch, it is working like a charm since 2 month with the 15.xx firmwre, but i cant install some facewatch or app because it is an old firmware. i need to think about it lol

  • I've issue with 955 on 19.18 showing WHR 0.0.0.

I don't have a PC and away from a Mac for next few months as travelling. Any way to fix my watch WHR and Steps through Garmin Connect on Android or am I screwed?

  • Good day, I guess it definitely won't work without a PC. And my method is random in nature of the possibility of recovery. Moreover, the watch may go back to the 0.00 sensor state after some time.
If possible, please return this watch to the manufacturer and get a new one in return.

  • Contact Garmin Support, they need to help you sort it.

  • Hey everyone,

I have the same issue, and I have already tried the steps above.

Today I noticed another thing wird with my Forerunner 955. After turning it off for a few hours and then powering it back on, everything initially seemed fine. The BMX was at 15.5.0, WHR at 15.05.00, and the Sensor Hub at 28.11. However, after a few minutes, the Sensor Hub dropped to 0.01, and the heart rate and steps counter froze at their last recorded values.

Has anyone else experienced this issue ? And about solutions?

  • Good afternoon.
Sensor Hub problem - at 0.01 and subsequent disabling of sensors in the watch will have positive success only if you replace this watch with a new sample through Garmin technical support.
I have had this problem dragging on for almost 6 months. Yes, the methods previously mentioned here have helped me and other watch users.
Alas, after upgrading to firmware 20.15 and 20.21 I have not been able to "revive the watch corpse" (get it out of 0.01) with my repeated experiments. Perhaps this is a hardware problem (part of the memory responsible for the sensor), which worsens over time.
As a result of about 20 minutes of dialog with technical support usa received an order (solution) to exchange the watch for a new one. In the course of communication was performed a complete reset and when the support saw (according to the protocols of the synchronization report) that even after the reset sensor status remained equal to 0.01 gave a positive decision to replace the watch. Despite the fact that the watch is already two years old and the warranty has long been completed. I am exchanging the watch through my intermediary in New York, it has already been delivered to him, and the watch for return go parallel parcel in Kansas Garmin.
I can't do the exchange in my country, we are now "bad guys" for the whole world, but this is temporary, until November 5 I guess, the main thing is that we are united by sport and desire to help each other.
Thanks to Garmin for meeting its watch users in these matters.
