check if hrm strap is connected

Tonight I had weird HR readings during a run. Can I check somewhere of my watch and HRM-strap were paired or not? Check during the run, or afterwards I do not care. But now I do not have a clue. It is the HRM Dual.

  • I keep an eye on it now. Just unpaired and re-paired it, had a run tonight and it all works fine. Coming weeks I will be checking it every run.

  • I had an issue today. While starting a workout, the watch did not detect the strap. And you know what? I forgot to wet the contacts. After i did so, the watch detected the strap. I often do not wet the contacts, and never had a problem. But maybe in this winter time, the skin is to dry. So I have to follow orders from the manual from now on and make the contacts wet :-)

  • It's also a good idea to moisturize your skin a bit. I do this for every use and have never had any problems. In winter I use warm water on my skin, not on the contacts to reduce the torture :)

  • Stupid question: But where can I find the battery status of my HRM-Sensor (Garmin) in Connect App exactly? Haven't found it yet after a while searching in activity details, ... Thank you!

  • Open your latest activity screen which you used your HR sensor. Scroll down on the Overview tab, all the way down, It only shows if it is OK. NOt exact %

  • And I would not trust too much on this OK status. As rule of thumb I would replace battery every 150h of use.

In my case I have seen still Battery status OK, but have several signal drops, which has gone after battery replace

  • Thank you for the information! The problem is, that I only see my watch there, but never see any sensors. Checked many of my runs, but nothing there. Is there any setting I need to adjust to see it? I'm on iOS.

  • I am sorry, can not help with iOS. I am on Android.

But at the same time can you see HRM in GCWeb?

Strange thing, there is no information about battery status, but I have that in older activities.

  • In Garmin Connect Web, you can see the latest battery status by clicking on the devices icon on top right, it shows status of sensors that were connected during the last 90 days.

  • Thank you, all! But neither in the connect app nor in connect web I see any strap in all of my runs since I have it - strange!
