Tonight I had weird HR readings during a run. Can I check somewhere of my watch and HRM-strap were paired or not? Check during the run, or afterwards I do not care. But now I do not have a clue. It is the HRM Dual.

Into the activity mode you can press the middle button to go to Settings > Sensors & Accessories and the watch show you the list of all your sensors and which one is "Connected".
Also from…
It may be worthwhile un-pairing and re-pairing the HRM as a precautionary step.
So I did a minute ago. See if that helps. Of the 13 runs so far this year, 7 runs did not register the strap. An unacceptable amount, so worth trying to solve the issue.

Also from the Garmin Connect you can see the battery status of the sensors on the last activity just in case that the battery is wrong and this cause some weird data.
Found it in the connect app. Not only my last run was not-paired, also the one before. And some more before that. It puzzles me. Why is this happening? I will pay attention to the message of "external Heart Monitor found" before starting my run. Maybe that helps.
It's strange, never happened to me. This only occured me when I forgot to turn off the Airplane Mode on the watch.
S.M.R. 's suggestion it's a good step to do.
