Altitude problem

I analyzed the altitude problem and came to the following 

The problem, at least in my case, is software 

Altitude is affected by wrist temperature or external conditions. If I don't wear the watch and the temperature does not vary, the altitude remains constant, while if I wear it, even while staying at home, the altitude varies significantly. The solution would be to not link temperature to altitude or to filter it adequately

    Yes, barometric altitude measurement (with electronic sensors) is dependent on temperature. That has always been so, since decades. Years ago, I had an altimeter watch, which could show the time, be used as a stopwatch and measure altitude / barometric pressure.
    It had an integrated thermometer and the users manual explained how it was used to interpret the values and calculate the pressure (as the same value from the barometric sensor could mean very different pressure at 20 degrees or 30 degrees e.g.).

    That is not possible, technically, like explained above.

    Yes. Garmin should try to work that out better.

    Whilst I am overall satisfied with my barometric measurements of the FR955, seldom I had "height shifts" overnight that might be caused by temperature too. I would be nice, if that would work out better.

  • While I sleep my Altimeter is working hard.... The original altitude is 132m but the watch constantly shifting it.
