Forerunner 955 stopped working after a night freeze

My watch got stuck this night – I woke up and saw 2:30, device did not react to any interactions. Turned it off by long-pressing Light button. After that, tried to clean ports, recharge it, etc — no reaction at all.

The watch is 1.5 years old and it is not under warranty anymore. What do I do now? See some posts about random freezes on the latest software, so I guess the issue is related. Anyone else with non-functioning watch here?

  • It is the latest software. Hardware doesn't just die out of the blue. Garmin won't acknowledge this. Other people on this form will jump in saying everything is ok for them, if not better than before, admitting they only use a very thin set of the watch functions. I'm not helping either. I'm just venting my frustrations with this watch.

  • same here, had mine sent in thorugh my retailer. hope for a fast replacement even though it's christmas... very annoying! hoping to at least be a be able to load future updates with a bootable watch. really big hit on my confidence using garmin...

  • The watch is still dead. Still no reaction to any key combinations, it is not recognized by both Mac and PC when connected.

Local dealer declines any service since the watch was bought in the US, US dealer directs me to the local one. Very disappointed.
