Last update 17.26 is very buggy

The last update brought some very nice features, but lots of bugs.

The watch freezes almost every morning, and if not in the morning, it freezes at any time of the day, but most often in the morning.

Weather is not working correctly, most of the time it shows an exclamation mark with no data.

Battery draining - this day it dropped from 30% to 12% in 5 hours.

The watch does not synchronize regularly (when I force synchronization in Garmin Connect after a long time, it takes quite a long time, as if it was transferring data for a whole day), it also shows older notifications, but when I want to see them, they are no longer in the list.

And all this is accompanied by occasional UI slowdown.

  • works like a charm doing what? just showing time? not for Garmin. once at a table we had 3 garmin watches, different models, all 1 minute apart.

  • even official watch faces have issues in garmin's opinion. they advise to avoid watch faces with data updated every second to preserve battery life but all their faces have seconds.

  • I've had multiple issues since the latest update, so much so I'm sending my watch back for a replacement as it's still under warranty. I know I'll likely have the same issues with a new watch but this was Garmins response to me reporting the problems since the update. They've accepted the faults and are happy to replace.

    1. Frozen screen every 10-12 notifications. Hard reset to fix.

    2. Battery became awful! Using 20%-30% a day on nothing!

    3. Late notifications.

  • just showing time?

    No, exactly that does it well but I don't like it, that's why I suggested a modification ( forums.garmin.com/.../add-an-option-of-no-clock-hands-to-the-main-watch-face-please ) ;)

But the truth is that I can't complain, luckily I haven't had any problems like other users who report the same thing here. I already mentioned in a thread that I don't know if it's about different hardware versions, since with exactly the same watch model and exactly the same FW we have totally opposite experiences even ruling out possible misconfigurations, etc.

  • 2. Battery became awful! Using 20%-30% a day on nothing!

In one of the previous firmware updates I had this problem of the battery not lasting at all. Someone suggested that I reboot it (just that) and not charge it to 100% anymore to my FR955 Solar. From there I charge it up to 80-95% or so. Since then I never had any more battery consumption issues. I only have Garmin apps installed, from the IQ and it has worked fine except for that occasional problem, have you tried it? I do not know if it is a coincidence or that it has some truth or that in another version of FW this problem was solved at least in mine.

  • The only issue i noticed is battery drain (>1% per hour in standby), otherwise 17.26 works perfectly fine.
I noticed the drain can be stopped by deactivating the phone connection. While this is just a workaround, i can live with it for now (will do some occasional syncs, then switch off again).

  • On my side too.. I have the freeze the morning and when I received notification. And today also a big bug in my ski session. Recorded only 20 minutes and 150 m of my full ski day (41.5 km on my son Smartphone)  ... really disappointed !

  • Apparently, Garmin has already fixed this problem on the Fenix. Hopefully it will also come to the Forerunner
