Altimeter inaccuracy

if I don't wear the watch and leave it on the desk the altitude remains constant, but if I wear it and stay at home the altitude changes for no reason. I believe it is influenced by body heat. the same happens when I run, changes in altitude correspond to drops in temperature

  • Disabling the automatic calibration is much better, it is their algorithm that is wrong, in the old woman 945 even worse

  • I've already tried and it doesn't change anything. Automatic calibration updates your altitude only when you start an activity that uses GPS

  • Yes, there are already countless threads about the altimeter issues. It seens Garmin does not want to address that

  • I did several tours with high altitude changes with the watch, and I also have my own developed Arduino based system with GNSS and pressure based altimeter with me and my results are always comparable and with sufficient and expectable accuracy. I do not know the internal setup how the sensor is electrically connected, and which interface is used.

In my opinion all the problems are hardware failures. Probably the sensor / connection or something is pretty sensitive or they manufactured a bad batch. There is nothing to adress except to change the hardware.
