Forerunner 965: Alpine skiing, the distance is counted on the ascent.

I've seen this problem reported for other Forerunner models. Unfortunately, this problem persists on the Forerunner 965, and during alpine skiing activities, the distance is also counted when climbing a chairlift, for example. When can we expect a fix?

  • it still happened on my 955 as well with software v17.24
it also wants to count every time i stop skiing as a run.
and moving thru the lift line it keeps talking to me: "lap27, 3 seconds." "lap 28 0.4 seconds" and so on.

i updated to 17.26 and will try again this week.  but the release notes for 17.26 do not give me good feelings that they fixed it.

  • This is quite disappointing to hear about the regression as we had to wait an entire ski season for this to get fixed last time.

  • Yeah, tried it yesterday after an update and it was hanging up on pause. I do start and stop often when skiing with kids, but before update it was working flawlessly. Now it was in pause most of the time, even when skiing so most of my runs are not even there

  • Toto fórum je určené pre hodinky Forerunner 955!

  • Also having the run count issue with the Forerunner 965. Before v17.24 I could stop as many times as I wanted during a run and I would get a single lap reported every time I got on the lift and started going up. When skiing a month ago, my run count was accurate.

For the past few weeks on v17.24- 17.26, i am now getting a lap recorded every time I stop which has been very annoying. The run count by the end of the day is double what it should be. Hoping this gets fixed soon.
