Hello , Is it possible to manually change the vo2max because the calculated one is too high.? Thanks.
In my opinion this is a big problem. In my case, garmin significantly overestimated Vo2max. Where at the beginning of use (early September) it was 51. At yesterday's training it was 45... I drop by 1 point every week. This causes the training status to constantly indicate detraining. Which is not true - even considering the number of trekkings undertaken.
Make sure you set your maxHR correctly. This is what a lot of people get wrong while it is by far the most critical factor in all of the calculations
Hey, thanks for the tip. I haven't changed it so far. How do I understand that Garmin determines them itself? So would it be a good idea to set them manually? If so, how to determine them? from a general formula or average from training? or perhaps the highest achieved historically. Thank you in advance for your tip!
I had my vo2max tested in a lab, and Garmin's estimate was 10 too high -- even with the correct maxHR. My guess is this was caused because I often record indoor HIIT workouts using the Run activity (since I jog to the gym and the workout is half treadmill sprints).
It will be detected if you have set it to autodetect in settings. Best way to detect your max HR is to do a field test. Mostly VO²max is overestimated if you run too short distances - about 2-3km only.
