Does it also keep asking to upgrade the software?
One thing to try is a hard reboot: first synchronise the watch with your phone to avoid loss of data, then hold the top left button in for about 20 seconds until the screen goes completely blank (after a few seconds it will show the Incident Detection screen -- keep holding in the button). Then release the button for a few seconds, and press it for 2 seconds and release. You should see the usual triangle logo, then the watch will boot up.
You tried to only restart and put to charge but not overpass the 90%?
The same behavior happened to me in the past with the 14.xx and someone here suggested me this and worked perfect.
It's a patch not a solution, I know, but now with the 16.17 I not tested to charge over the 90% but my FR955S works fine and that's what really matters to me. Hope that helps!
