Next fork?

It's features like this that Garmin use to differentiate their Outdoor series of watches from their Sports/Fitness watches.

It might appear on the FR series in the future as it's purely a software thing, and the software teams seem to be moving closer together (eg. endurance/hill scoring which came in with version 16, but had been a feature on the Outdoor series for a year or so), but I couldn't guess if or when it will appear.

It is already available...You just have to create a course and follow it using navigation

Next Fork is supposed to work even if you're not following a route. It's a data field.

And... it does seem to be available in the current 16.17 software. I've just added it to the Hike activity. (Navigation Fields -> Next Fork)

I just reported the comment of a forum member, I don't have 955 yet, but it will happen soon enough

I can confirm that the Next Fork field works on the 955 even if you have no route. It displays either two dashes, or a distance and the name of the next street, path, or road that you will cross. There's no map.
