Found triathlon activity name has (2).
Just curious about the meaning of (2).

According to the manual - Forerunner 955 Owner's Manual - Creating a Multisport Activity (garmin.com)
Duplicate activity names include a number. For example, Triathlon(2).
However, I only have one Triathlon activity.
And the original Triathlon already has (2).
Does it mean there are two transitions?
→It should not count on duplicate transitions.
Because I add 5 activities in Triathlon(2), yet the (2) does not change to (4)
I found there is "Rename" function to rename Triathlon(2).

However, if I rename Triathlon(2) to Triathlon then FR955 says "Activity Profile Already Exists".

After search all Multisport, there is a Triathlon activity.
And there is strange thing is if I remove Triathlon(2) from my APP list then it creates a new Triathlon(3) in stock APP list.

If I add and remove again, then there will be a new Triathlon(4)!!

But I do not find any remove function to remove Triathlon(x) from stock APP list.
Today, I check my friend's brand new FR955 after its first time for running.
I found there are still default Triathlon(2) and Swimrun(2) actitities, having Triathlon and Swimrun, too.
I am wondering if Garmin SW engineer forgot to remove these two duplicate activities after testing?
BTW, you all should see such two duplicate activities with (2) naming in your FR955 default activities, true?
Now that you mention it, my 955 has:
- Triathlon and Triathlon(2), but note that I already added the Triathlon activity to the activity list. Triathlon(2) is only in the *new* activity list.
- Swimrun(2) (in the new activity list, under multisport). Swimrun is also in the new activity list, but under Running. This is a little weird, but arguably not a bug.
Interestingly enough, if I add Swimrun(2) to the activity list, now the new activity list has Swimrun(3), which is to be expected (assuming that the new activity list always has to have a Swimrun activity under the multisport category). But if I delete Swimrun(2), the new activity list *still* has Swimrun(3) (but no Swimrun(2)). If I repeat the same actions, I get Swimrun(4) in the new activity list. I could probably go on forever and cause the watch to generate activity names like Swimrun(999).
I think one of the quirks here is that when you add an activity from a non-multisport category (like Run or Swimrun under Running), that activity is removed from the new activity list. But when you add an activity from the multisport category, the same activity (with a new name) remains the new activity list (so you can easily have multiple multisport activities.) Of course the problem here is that if you repeatedly add and delete a given activity, the name in the new activity list keeps changing (e.g. from "Swimrun" to "Swimrun(2)" to "Swimrun(3)" etc.) I can see why this happens but it's a bit quirky.
Another quirk is that when you add Swimrun from the Running category, you're not asked to select sports for each leg (for obvious reasons), but when you add Swimrun(X) from the Multisport category, you're asked to select sports (the third sport defaults to "Done" though). I think it would make a whole lot more sense here to not have an endless supply of Triathlon, Swimrun, etc. multisport activities, but just allow the user to use the Copy or Custom options if they want to create more, just like they've done with every other type of activity.
Idk, to me this is just standard lack of attention to detail from Garmin. As usual they haven't done things in a way which is literally "wrong", but it is confusing and inconsistent.
