Weather maps are new and broken

I don't get this feature at all. You need to have mobile to get updates so why don't you just use it?

Why do you asume, I dont??

Of course I'm connected to Internet. 

The map layer underneath is not showing, and those maps are stored on the device

I have 0 problems with map usage like it was, haven't even tried to use these overlays as like I said, I don't get the feature at all. Of course if it bugs that's bad, but my comment is more general as WHY? If someone can imagine use case that I can't.

This feature works fine for me, no problems.

so you see under the weather overlay a normal map with roads and cities?

Yes

Tried that feature first time. Yes, I see the overlays and maps. But I see some flashes that looks somewhat the second image, but the maps is still there in background. Not sure is it failing to download the overlays or waiting the overlay or what.

Thanks. I guess, I'll have to contact garmin support after the weekend

I get the overlays, but not the maps
so I see the wind directions e.g., but what does it bring me without a map in the background?:)
