Garmin Connect training status does not update during the day.

Garmin Connect training status does not update during the day.  The widget sometimes shows the correct value from the watch but clicking into it then shows the morning report value. Sometimes the value on the widget briefly reflects the watch value and then reverts back to the morning value.  It is very confusing when the watch is saying I shouldn't train whilst GC is saying I should and vice versa.

It surely can't be the intention that Garmin Connect shows two different values of training status?

  • I’m seeing this behaviour now too whereas I hadn’t previously. I guess you have to go to the watch for a reliable live value of Training Readiness.

  • I went back to look at this again. From what I can tell, if Connect can’t sync with the watch then it displays the Training Readiness value from the morning rather than the value from its most recent sync.

    It may very well be a design decision and not a bug since the Connect app can’t be confident of your current TR status if it can’t communicate with the watch. Regardless, if you want the current Training Readiness value then your best bet is to check the watch.

    Well, I think it is a bug in the Garmin Connect App.
    My Garmin Connect App can communicate with the watch and also you can see the sync status (and activities and steps and stress and stuff is synced as visible in the app), still the Training Readyness shown in the App is clearly not up to date.

    This showed up maybe two weeks ago - during lifetime of 15.19 firmware on the watch but remains with 16.17 - so I think, it must be a bug in the Connect app.

    Maybe we should open a thread in the Connect App forum.
