16.17 update seems to have battery draining problem too. About 1% per hour since update. Restarting doesn't help.

16.17 update seems to have battery draining problem too
No, it does not.
At least not generally - I updated to 16.17 yesterday evening and now, more than 14 hours later, battery is at 98…
I always read it like this in the forums.
Have done it several times (usually after updates) and at least it did no harm ;)
Correction. Draining more but not so much.
Before update, night depletion about 3%, day about 4%. So daily ~7% and rightly up to 14+ days (~100/7%) in smartwatch mode.
Now after a few days observation…

I wrote it before in this forums: In my opinion, battery drain has nothing to do with the software version, but (maybe) with the process of updating itself.
With EVERY software version, somebody has battery drain, while i had more than a dozen updates until now (with 955, 255 and 245) and ZERO battery drain after updates.
Have you tried soft reset?
Connect the watch with a cable to computer with Garmin Express.
Sync.
Then press the "Light" button (upper left) for 15-20 seconds, until the watch is forced to shut down.
Wait a little, it should restart soon. If it doesn't automatically, press the light button again to turn it on.
Wait it for it to be booted.
Wait until it has synced again with Garmin Express.
Has been reported to help and it does not erase any data.
Do you not just hold down the light button until it switches off for a soft reset, and then hold the light button down again to switch it back on?

Just concerned that I might be doing it incorrectly.
About 1% per hour since update.
Update from my side: Now about 36 hours since updating to 16.17 for me, and yesterday evening had a 1 hour run (external HRM, SatIQ).
Battery is at 91% right now.

Now after a few days observation, night (3-4%), day (4-5%), so daily about 8%+- (won't last 14 days, 100/8 ~ 12+ days), definitely drop more but not as much as I thought (was observing the drop from 5% on first day, maybe more because I'm playing around to see what more glances, options comes with the update.
No change observed for my jogging, still about 1%/hour of GPS (Auto Select) activity.
So not a big issue but still curious what changes cause the slightly faster depletion.
i had full charged yesterday noon and this morning it's at 9%
it drains pretty fast!!!

How can it be possible to have 1%/hour?
Does it mean that your watch will be able to record an activity over 90 hours?
Typo, 4-5% per hour of gps activity, not 1%. Same observation before and after the update
