FR955 Solar v15.19 random battery drain and Bluetooth problems?

Hi everyone,

I used fw v15.19 since it was released. It worked perfectly until the last few days. I have detected excessive battery consumption. I did not install anything new nor do I have extra applications installed. To give an example: I charged my FR955 Solar yesterday afternoon to 100% and early today it is already at 64%. I did not do activities in that interval, it only tracked sleep without SPO2. The battery and watch it's almost new (4 months since I bought it).

I also noticed that since the last update of the Connect app for Android I can't edit the sports modes (activities and apps) because the watch syncs correctly, but it gives an error when trying to edit these modes, like bluetooth is disconnected.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

  • Sudden battery drain is a common complaint with FR955. I, personally, never experienced it on any firmware version before during my year of ownership. My watch would consume about 7% of battery per day in the smartwatch mode, and consistently last 14-15 days... Until the last weekend. Started a hike fully charged and finished the hike with over 60% of battery. Slept overnight. The watch was in the airplane mode, as well as the phone. Woke up with 30% of battery. Still lasted the hike next day but died right after.

I have no idea what caused the sudden drain. And it seems to be about the same 30% - 35% drain overnight as in your case. No unusual drain after.

  • Have you used any sensors? Turned them off after the activity & sensors scanning. Have you put the watch in the airplane mode? That, not counting SpO2, can cause the drain.

  • Yes, I use it but always I put my FR in Airplane mode at night.
It's strange, because now looks that work normal with the exception of that I can't edit modes from Connect app, but I imagine that this is a problem of the update of the last version of Connect Android app. No overnight drain, I did 8hs of activity with GPS in the last 18hs and the battery only dropped 40% counting also the 24/7 HR tracking, etc. I don't know what can be the cause.
The only external factor that I can take in consideration is the temperature in the city that dropped more than 15 celsius degrees in one night.

  • Same here, no problems until that night.

  • Same problem the last two weeks. After talking in the chat I did a full reset and it seemed fine until one night that it fell from 60% to 30% in only 7 hrs without using it , so no wrist heart rate consuming any battery and with the watch in airplane mode which should be a very econo mode. Don't know what to think...

  • Last night again, dropped from around 46% to 16%. Airplane mode was ON and all connections are off Disappointed
Everyone still could edit the Activities modes of the watch from the Connect app?

  • Clearly there is another reason for these drains, it must be a bug that will be hopefully fixed for all of us with the next update.

  • I have a battery drain of 2% per night, HRV is on and SpO2 is on. Try not to put it in airplane mode.

    Test it like this.

  • Thank you, I will try, but I don't really like the idea of sleeping with active connections on my watch In fact, that was the normal battery consumption that I had as soon as I bought the watch and tried it a few nights and also now when it "works fine" at night in airplane mode.
