Backlight Problem

I recently purchased a garmin 955 and as soon as I connected it to garmin express it updated me to firmware 15.19. With this update I have had a problem with the backlight.

First, it suffered oscillations in the intensity of the backlight when activated, other times it worked for a few hours well and then it disappeared again.
Other times in absolute darkness I could check how the screen lights up at 2 or 3% practically unreadable in complete darkness.

To say that I have tried everything that I could think of: softreset, hardreset, change the intensity parameters, the duration in seconds, the settings during activity and in general use.
And the result has been zero.

Finally I installed the new beta 16.09 to see if it solved the problem, but it continues without backlight.

I would like to know if it has happened to anyone else, since it does not seem like a hardware problem since it worked correctly out of the box, it was after updating to 15.19.

  • The same problem for me, I just bought a new Forerunner 955 and updated it to v.17.26 and now I don't have backlightFace palm

    I did reset but it didn't help. The backlight sometimes returns back, for example yesterday after running it works for a few hours and then disappear again. Sometimes after restarting the watch backlight start working for hour or two and then disappear again.

    I found several threads on the forum, and there are only one works solution, return it back to the seller and get a new one :/
