Dear Garmin,
I’ve been a loyal customer transitioning from a vivo fitness band to the 935, 945, and 955 Solar. I loved the 935 for the feature set, but especially its size and comfort. I had tried various fitbits (bands and watches), and the Microsoft band (1&2) and the 935 was a sweet spot. I know people called it a Fenix 5P and in my case the ‘P’ stood for perfect. I’ve tried the Fenix and have found the bulk and materials others find desirable to be annoying for a daily driver and especially at night. My wrists aren’t big enough for either comfort or accurate data
I have been mildly annoyed over the years by some of the features you keep to the Fenix line. Not the bouldering, the materials makes sense there, but some of the golf and other ski course type things. BUT, you’re a business and I can contort myself to see your side. Then you released the jet lag advisor and I thought “now that’s a feature that’s not only great for me professionally but also a feature that runners, cyclists, and triathletes can all benefit for given destination races being a thing.” I even recall Ray Maker saying you planned to bring it over to the Fenix and 955 lines. But you seem to have backtracked and think that only Fenix users do any travel or experience fatigue when doing so. I thought maybe this conclusion might be the result of a focus group or a survey I never got to take that built out certain personas. So, I figured I would let you know that I actually travel a lot and would find great value from this software feature. Would it transform my life? Doubtful. But, many of your competitors recognize the value of not penalizing customers who spend as much as others, but have different size and case preferences doesn’t make sense and truly starts to get old.
That said, I don’t own a yacht, so no need to port those features over. Also, thanks for fixing the sunset bug in the recent beta.
