Has Garmin fixed Training Status across multiple devices yet?

Eg. Training Status: Why is there two outputs? One for my F955 and one for my E830? This doesn’t make sense. How can I be Productive and Unproductive at the same time? Shouldn’t all my activities be reconciled into one Training Status output?

I know there lots of history posts asking this question.

Purchased 955 about 6 months ago but returned it because of above.

  • I don’t know exactly how it’s supposed to work as I only have one device but I would suggest looking into Physio True-up and Unified Training Status if you haven’t already.

Could the two training statuses refer to different sports? I.e. maybe your run training is productive but your bike training is productive? There’s obviously overlap between the two sports but it doesn’t seem unreasonable that you could be productive in one but not the other. (I’m mostly a runner. I only bike for pleasure.)

  • Exact same boat as I have 955 & 830.   When I first bought the 830, I had a 645.  Since the 645 was "dated", it didn't have the physio true-up like the newer 830 operating system came with.  That left me with two different training statuses.  When I opted to buy the 955, it was a selling point that I could finally sync across all devices.  NOPE!

I can see my cycling VO2 from the 830, but the 955 and 830 both report a very different training statuses.

  • Thanks… I Read on “unified training status”, that seems to be what I’m looking for, unfortunately only works with Edge1040, highest spec bike computer. I have 830.

I could see merits in wanting to have separate but should be a consolidated / unified view as well.

  • Also works with the new 540 and 840.

I’m not really sure what the difference is between Physio True-Up and Unified Training Status.

  • I can understand Garmin limiting some backwards compatible features, but you shouldn't have to upgrade all of your devices at the same time.  It's just not reasonable, especially if you use one device more than another.  There should be some form of rolling range of compatibility.

If my 955 (a watch targeting Triathlons users) thinks I'm due a hard workout and I go and do one on the bike with the 830, that workout should cross over and count.  I should see updates/impacts to Training Status, Acute Load, Recovery time and the suggested Load Focus "pills" equally.

  • This exactly…

Was hoping this was fixed… not going to drop $2k on F965 + E1040/840.

Guess I’ll get an Apple Watch :S
