Forerunner 955 turning off during runs

Hi,
I'm having a problem were my watch turns off during some runs. I notice that the music stops playing, then I look to my watch and the HR data (from HRM PRO) dissapears and a couple of seconds later the watch turns off. I'm able to turn the watch on and continue the run, but them I can't connect the music again (only works again after a restart).

I contacted garmin support and they suggested removing my old runs from the watch (some old corrupted files may have been the cause), however I tried that and the issue happened again yesterday. I will now try to reinstall the spotify app to see if the issue is solved.

Has anyone had a similar issue?
  • Hi,
I wonder if your problem is not related to the one I am having: forums.garmin.com/.../reboot-when- i-try-to-change-music-source-during-an-activity
In any case, after reboot, it takes some time before the music applications are operational again...
  • I have the same issue, but I only noticed it, when following a route. I start the route, i start the run, i start the music - the music stops playing within 30 seconds, the watch reboots and resumes the activity in pause mode (Timer says 00:00:03:xx). The music menu in the quick dial ring is vanished. It reappears after starting the watch again.

I am on FW 14.11, using spotify, komoot and an osm map.

  • I don't think old activities are the cause.

I would do a factory reset if I were you.

Otherwise, you might need to experiment removing of 1 setting or app by trial and error.
