Beta 15.09

Now available to download…

  • Yes on the new animation.  Almost like a zooming in to get to the next page.  Looks nice.

    Yes on new Sunrise/Sunset glance.

  • Yes i noticed, i already declared my mishap a few posts ago ;)

  • Reading you all, mates, this beta seems to be a good release in overall.

Are your (mostly) satisfied with it?

  • yes, so far so good for me. There are already some insights in Public Beta Bug Reports, you judge if they are important for you.

earlier in this thread claimed he had observed some three new issues, but did not specified anything.

  • Long press in watch face to launch widgets still not working?

  • it works now for the stock watch faces but it is not working for CIQ watch faces (that support it and work on the other touch screen watches like the Fenix7/Epix2)

  • mostly satisfied, but check out the bug reports. i just discovered a new bug where the backlight is activating on gesture even though it's midday and i have to only activate supposedly after sunset. this is a newly introduced bug in the beta, unlike the other bugs i've reported that already existed in prior firmwares.

  • Like the addition of wrist-based running dynamics a lot! Only shortcoming is lack of GCT balance. Can watch not be able to differentiate left/right GCT by just counting odd/even GCT number? Does HRM have left/right poistion sensor to provide these balance data?

Notice that the map panning button in history activity finally work in Beta 15.09, however without touch-drag pan feature, review history map is basically useless.

  • No way for GCT balance with any level of accuracy from a device that is only on one wrist.

accelerometers in RD Pod and HR straps should be centered on the body and can read from there.

  • i've only done one run with the wrist based dynamics, but with a very small sample size, the Vertical Oscillation and Ratio measured (high 8's for both) is significantly different than the several runs i've done with my HRM Pro Plus (low 7s). i don't wear the Pro Plus often because it's just not comfortable relative to my older simple HRM straps but on occasion use it to check out those dynamics. the ground contact numbers are very similar.

i'll collect more data, but will be curious if others have found similar discrepancies. (i speculate it may be wrist vs chest location and i'm guessing chest is more stable and reliable as a measure)
