Stopped recording laps/strokes in pool swim

Hello,

This week, I went for a pool swim and my 955 was recording all my laps/strokes without a problem, like it has always done. Towards the end of the workout, when I manually started a lap, it didn't record anything. At first I thought I forgot the press the lap button to start recording, but that wasn't the case. I tried a few more times after that it wouldn't record anything. After that, I restarted the watch and made sure I was running the latest software (14.20). Went for another pool swim and this time everything worked as expected. The next swim, the same thing happened. After some time, it stopped recording once again. My workaround this time was to use the Drill Log and then manually set the distance so I could keep track of the distance.

Long time FR9xx series owner and this was the first time I had this issue.

TL;DR: watch stopped recording laps/strokes mid-swim.

Has anybody seen this issue before?

  • Yep, it can stop recording at any time. I get he feeling it happens more when the watch is fully charged.

You should check your stroke count too, mine is all over the place. I always do 6-7 strokes (20m pool), it records anything between 4 and 18. If this is wrong, the swolf is wrong etc etc. When I'm tired, it shows more variation. So I would guess it is calibrated for "perfect" swimmers alone in a pool. If you have to wait at the wall, have to remove water in a google... the stroke data seems to take a hit.

Laps are the same. I do a 1500m every morning, and logically I should allays stop at the opposite wall I've started. But it is not always the case. I don't bother to count the 75 laps, but I do see the watch missing laps. I read 1460m, and have to swim 5 laps to finish???

  • I’m having the same issue. Super frustrating.
