Apple AirPods 1st gen. audio cuts out during running

Hello,

I have just purchased Garmin 955 and I have immediately successfully paried Apple AirPods 1st generation.

When I start running, the music is played correctly but after about 10 minuted one AirPods cuts out and then after after 10-15 minutes also the second one cuts out.

The AirPods are charged and they work perfectly with other devices and also with my former Garmin 945 Music.

Please help, thanks.

Daniele

  • Hi there, same issue, FR945 and AirPods 1, after 10 min the left one is disconnecting, after a while the right one is disconnecting too

  • We had a similar issue with 1st gen AirPods paired to a 245. Seems the batteries in the pods may have been the issue. After a couple years of use, they simply weren’t holding a charge anymore. They would still stay connected to an iPhone for longer, but struggled to connect to anything else for longer than 20 minutes or so. Also cold weather didn’t help.

The fact that one of the units cuts out quicker is common with older AirPods. I believe Apple pushes the microphone duties on to one (the right one?) more than the other, or people often use just one while talking on the phone, so that battery will wear down faster.

I know you said yours work well with other devices, but it still may be a battery issue. We got a pair of new 2nd gen AirPods and haven’t had the issue since.
