Does Garmin 955 have all the navigation features as Garmin Instinct 2?

Hi all,

I am torn between the decision to buy either FR 955 and Garmin Instinct 2.

The decision will be easy if FR 955 have all the navigation features as Garmin Instinct 2, then I will go for FR 955.

Hope for informative input.. Thanks in advance.

  • Really? Instinct is a junk watch with a black/white display, a horrible resolution for a half price - so no maps, no multiband, no varia radar, or any other fancy features. Basically you can check this comparison - Fr955 and Fenix 7 are similar.

  • FR955 has way more navigation features including full colored maps and turn-by-turn navigation to anywhere you want. New FR965 would be even better because it has amoled display.

Instinct 2 is only able to navigate by following your preloaded course (line) or navigating to saved location (arrow and distance). Its more like FR255 or FR745.

  • I am unsure, if you are posting on the right forum. I could understand your concern, if this was the 255 or 265 forum. 955 has built in map, which Instinct 2 does not, and I would be very surprised if Instinct can do something 955 cannot, when it comes to navigation. It Also can do few things more. Just the nature of having maps on the means, that beside seeing your surroundings, you can also do stuff like route planning, pace pro, climb pro, rerouting etc. direct on the watch without doing it through Garmin Connect.

  • Thanks for the informative feedback.
