Last night was DST (1 hour forward) for most of the continental US. The rollover is supposed to happen at 02:00 this morning. This is the first time I've used a Garmin smartwatch through a daylight savings time change. I'm on FW 14.15.
I'm seeing discrepancies between the watch, GC mobile, and GC web in terms of how sleep and activity times are being recorded. I'm wondering what others are seeing here (for those that had a time change this morning or recently).
For sleep:
- The watch recorded my sleep time as 00:28-09:10, with 7h 39m sleep time and 3m awake time. This is correct.
- GC mobile shows my sleep time as 01:28-09:10. Sleep duration is accurate but start time is incorrect (1h forward).
- GC web shows my sleep time as 00:28-08:10. Sleep duration is accurate but end time is incorrect (1h back).
For activity:
- Watch correctly recorded activity time from today (starting at 11:34). However, if I look back at past activities (I looked back about a week prior to DST), their times have been modified to make it seem like they were done an hour later than actual.
- GC mobile shows activity times prior to DST as correct. However, today's activity was recorded an hour later than actual (12:34).
- GC web shows activity times correctly on all days.
Body battery graph:
- Watch appears to have shifted all times to match DST. So if I scroll backwards in the graph everything from yesterday happened an hour later than it actually did.
- GC mobile body battery graph is correct for prior days. However, today it is an hour earlier than expected.
- GC web body battery graph is correct for prior days. However, today it is an hour earlier than expected.
This leads to some weird looking graphs. Below is the body battery graph from GC web with the sleep and activity times overlaid. The location of the vertical line is where the activity start should be.
On GC mobile the offset is even worse. Because the activity on GC mobile was recorded an hour later, the offset on the graph is actually 2 hours, not 1 as is the case with GC web.
