Problem with length counts during pool swimming

Hi,

I have just received my new Garmin 955 and I very like it! However, I don't like how it counts lengths during the pool swimming activities. Until now, I have used Garmin 955 for pool swimming ca 10 times and in neither of those activities the length counts were correct, which is very annoying. The pool size is 50 m and in one length I swim 50% crawl and 50% *** until I come to the end, take a 20 sec rest and then I swim back with the same 50/50 style. When I go back I push myself from the wall. Garmin simply cannot get it and the length count is total mess.

Before Garmin 955, I was using Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and this one did not have any problems with length counts. It could be that occasionally record 1 extra length, but that was very rare.

Is anyone figured it out how to fix this?

Thank you and best regards.

  • The count is based on a change in style, usually when doing a turn and a gliding part before taking up swimming. So, changing style in between will result in counting a new length.

  • Thanks for the explanation, I thought it was a case. I am not planning to change the style just for Garmin to understands what I am doing, especially when I am not doing anything extra-ordinary...using two swimming styles in one pass should not be a challenge for Garmin to capture :) If Samsung figured it out how to provide length accuracy, Garmin should be able to do it as well. I will try to change pool length to 25 m, maybe that could trick the watch
